Faisal Qureshi is a Pakistani television actor and veteran film actor. Qureshi is known as one of the most versatile actors in Pakistan. Playing characters old and young, delinquent and religious, blind and deaf. He has stated that "I just want to make my country proud. I want to show my sheer commitment by changing my look and style in every drama." He was voted the most popular TV actor of 2010.

Qureshi has appeared as a judge on ARY Digital's competition show Dum Hai To Entertain Kar and is a full-time judge on Nachle. He is the host of reality show Hero Banney ki Tarang, also on ARY. He started hosting the morning show Muskurati Morning on TVOne Global along with Ayesha Khalid in October 2010, and it has been voted the most popular morning show currently on air and won the award for the best morning show in 2011.

Personal life

Qureshi was born to Abid Qureshi and widely popular film actress Afshan Qureshi in Lahore. It was due to the frequent visits to TV sets with his mother that Qureshi was first discovered. He was first married at the age of 18, but his marriage was unsuccessful and the couple was divorced 7 years later, despite having a 6 year old daughter. He married again when he was 28, though once again, the marriage was unsuccessful and the couple was divorced 2 years later. He has a son with his second wife who now lives in the UK. He married a third time, at the beginning of 2010 to a woman named Sana. He now lives in Karachi with his mother, wife, and 18-year old daughter Hanish Qureshi, while his son lives in the UK with his mother. Faisal is good friends with fellow actor Aijaz Aslam and director Baber Javed. He hosted a memorial to deceased actor Moin Akhter on April 29, 2011 along with Aijaz Aslam.

Career

Qureshi started his career in acting as a child artist from PTV's play Emergency Ward, and also appeared in the play Andhera Ujala as a child. His first major acting role as an adult was in the 1992 film Saza. Qureshi went on to star in 19 other films, but quit after four years in the film industry and went on to pursue a career as a full-time television actor.

He appeared in various minor roles before landing his first lead role as Boota in Toba Tek Singh. Qureshi has stated about his acting career that "I never wanted to be a hero. I've always wanted to be first and foremost, an actor." "The thought of becoming a director or producer," he says, "has never appealed to me. I still feel I have far to go as far as acting is concerned".
